About Howard S. Cahill

I am Howard S. Cahill, I love horror and dark fiction. I like to explore worlds where survival is uncertain, and where characters face choices that shape how they respond to their world. My work often blends the slow dread of horror with the stark realities of people pushed to their limits.

At my core, I am a pantser. I generally come up with an idea from a photo I may have seen, as in the story At the Day’s End. I am less interested in monsters themselves than in the people who encounter them. Their weaknesses, their resilience, and the truths they uncover when the world strips away comfort. Death, time, memory, and sacrifice are recurring themes throughout my work.

I publish short fiction and serialized tales, including The Ashwick Horror, an saga set in early-1900s New England, as well as other stories of survival and strangeness such as Beyond the Eastern Hills and The Road to Somerset. Each piece stands on its own, but together they trace a larger interest of mine: how fragile human lives meet forces beyond their control.

Thank you for visiting my little cobweb-filled corner of the world, and I hope you enjoy your time here.

Until next time,

Howard
